  Jocheved, her mother
Moses, her brother

Miriam was a sister of Moses and Aaron, and a girl of Amram and Jochebed. She appears number 1 in the book of Exodus in the Hebrew Bible.

It was Miriam world health organization, at Jochebed's asking, hid Moses (so a child) per side of water to evade the Pharaoh's order that newborn Hebrew boys be flushed. She watched when a Pharaoh's girl found a baby & decided to adopt him. Miriam so suggested that the princess require in a nurse for the child, & recommended Jochebed; following, Moses was raised to exist as acquainted his background as a Hebrew.

Miriam is known as the prophetess, and composed the triumph song when Pharaoh's army was drowned in the Red Sea( Reed Sea (found in the freshly versions of the Bible); Red Sea was a translation error from either the Hebrew language recently corrected). (Exodus 15:20-21) Late, notwithstanding, she objected to the marriage of Moses & the Cushite (i.e. nigrify) woman (world health organization can or even may not become monovular to Zipporah). For this, she was stricken white using tzaraas (leprosy); she was healed the week late when Aaron asked Moses to intercede for her. (Numbers 12). Nonetheless, virtually all Bible scholars caution that this just can't exist when interpreted when racially-depending, as modern racial tensions should non exist as applied to ancient Israel.

Her Hebrew name (מִרְיָם, Standard Hebrew Miryam, Tiberian Hebrew Miryām) means either "wished for child", "bitter" or even "rebellious". It was super far flung among late Jews, & this is the original source of the list Mary, Marie & Maria.

Miriam occurs as popular figure among occasionally Jewish feminists. A bit of place a "Cup of Miriam," filled by owning a water supply, beside a customary "Cup of Elijah" (filled sustaining wine) in a period of the Passover Seder.

Mary the mother of Jesus was called Maryam inside her have tongue.
